Goat Cheese Disgusting

THE FRESH & Only

PLAY IT STRANGE (2010)

As I said yesterday, was planning to write about an album that exuded aromas spring but changed my mind at the last minute to echo the anniversary of Kurt Cobain. Today there is no excuse for not sharing this album that I've heard so many hours spent in the last week. The third album from this band from San Francisco (California) contains what excites me find a collection of songs in these days of good weather. I can not help enjoying it whole as I give the play button because it is magical and delicious from start to finish. Faced with the imminent launch of their new job (this time will be a five-song ep that will appear within twenty days) and confirmation of its presence in the next Primavera Sound festival, it seemed a good time to talk about them. His record (In The Red Records), were described very well in a promotional sheet, calling them practice their indie-garage rock and psychedelic pop that turns guitar-eighties Go-Betweens, Jacobites and the first REM while welcoming some influences from Iggy Pop and The Gun Club. I would add something else, like the fact that their sound is based on the good taste for the old and the soundtracks of spaghetti westerns of Sergio Leone. I can only fervently recommend this band a chance, because their proposal is filled with rising melodies, bright and captivating that you will have a good time. Also looming surely will see the spirit of various groups to your liking or at least known to all as The Doors, floating in the atmosphere of the original "Summer of Love", with that pace enlightening and vocal brilliance, pseudo-hippie the incredible "Waterfall", my favorite no doubt, where the guitars sound a universe magna drawing led by his own personality, which is perhaps one of the best songs of last year, for its undeniable hook and addictiveness, one of those pieces that change your life or at least the mood for his optimism and hope that glow that goes beyond the quick "Until the end of time", which follows the path danceable and hummable opened by its predecessor, mixing the best of Television Personalities and The Gun Club above , the sunny "Tropical Island Suite," which may remind latest Ganglians or Woods with hallucinogenic folk-rock flag in the first minutes but is a long song (almost eight minutes) takes his own way about the same way the first great Ducktails Deerhunter and afterwards, the punk-rocker "All Shook Up" halfway Ramones and Best Coast in key lo-fi, the adorable "Fascinated," which choral air fills every corner of our room in romantic simpleton, the powerful "Red light green light", with that stop buzzing and the noise-laden determination psychotropic able to translate his speech to the 60's without we realize it is a band of jovenzanos at that time still circling in the testicles of their fathers, and vacilona "I'm a thief", that reminds me of my dear Caesars when they get homesick, and they add a certain tone in a simulator orchestrated very acceptable. Do not invent anything new and are just one of the many bands that have come out lately that express the legacy of The Beach Boys? can, but it feels good to hear, hear!. Tim Cohen, Shayde Sartin, Wymond Miles, Kyle Gibson is The Fresh & onlys.
