CLASSICS (2006) 
Much time has passed since the last time I devoted an entry to a gender-related band post-rock and I like comes from breaking the hegemony of discs with this fabulous voice instrumental duo from New York City (New York) native, meets this season ten years of glorious existence in which we have bought six studio albums (two of which consisting of cover songs own) and numerous remixes for artists and groups from the likes of Björk, Shout Out Louds, The Knife, Television Personalities and Biz Markie. A versatile band has also collaborated with many stars of hip-hop movement as Kanye West, Notorious BIG, Dizze Rascal, Jay-Z, Method Man and Missy Elliot, among others, and that many have described as a replica guitars to electronics elegant Daft Punk, a fact that puts land through which training can definitely describe as a rock, but open-minded. My favorite album of them is the 'Classics', the second under his belt (not counting one of his two remixes work was published in between its official debut this) they recorded in a house that owns the Icelandic Björk in Manhattan. Here we encounter a collection of pieces that go well with any hour, but do not meet consumer preferences musical means, always be at the cutting edge because they enjoy a timeless all ideal for background listening in any situation like a modern version of The Shadows riding the waves at the rate of the tropical air. Once again the voice was outlawed and ownership belonged to a bass and guitar sound like synthesizers and electro smelled in each of its pores, to developments in the seventies psychedelic rock, progressive bands like Pell Mell, Locanda Della Fate or Spontaneus Combustion, and Morr Music indietronica seal at once, without making clear its debt with any of those styles. Not many differences with its predecessor 'Classics' we had cut as accurate as "Montanita", an endearing creation illustrated by items that make lovely warm at the same time challenging for each of our senses, extending and adding notes to certain math-related connotations rock of Battles and Don Caballero, "Lex" eclectic and strong, introducing us to a world full of electronic effects and electrical changes of direction, bouncing off the job with the presence of a harpsichord, "Gettysburg," a tough battle next to the drum 'n' bass and trip-hop where the harmonies come alive and is undoubtedly the best track on the album, "Wildcat" as if the French Phoenix I take off to its flagship vocalist and became one gender group, and that certainly adds some rather curious mewing that can be defined as the only vocal excerpts of the lot, "Loud pips" clear show of good fellowship with bases sampled and very addictive with a break in simulating a whistle humming, "Kennedy", cross marvelous rhythmic and melodic expertise passion, and exotic Tacobel canon ", which wrap up this story divided into ten parts which makes us fly imagination to achieve the tension we create opportunities to enjoy this honest experiment. Ratatat are Evan Mast (also published solo albums under the name E * vax) and Mike Stroud.
