BIONIC (1995)
The world is a living tissue or a succession of intriguing curiosities like whichever you prefer. The fact is that a few days ago my esteemed colleague Silencekid, responsible for the great blog "My umbrella Sandinista ', I recommended a Canadian series called" Trailer Park Boys' and as these days I'm, like one who says, in dry dock without power do much more than sit and watch TV I gobbled up the first two seasons non-stop laughing at the strange characters who lead the series, and as I am a little freak and I can not look around when I catch something, I sought information on the actors, since the entire cast knew only the award-winning star of Juno, Ellen Page, and that's when I stumbled across an unexpected surprise, seeing that my neighbor's favorite of all who live in the trailer park who stars in this fake documentary, is played by an actor before he was involved in a group that once and I liked I got in a way that I can not remember, because they are largely unknown. In the mid 90's I had a time when he was immersed in everything that we came from North America under the nickname alternative rock, was very lonely in that attractive, since I had nobody with whom to share his passion for bands like Everclear, Eels, Wheatus, Collective Soul, Blues Traveller, Tonic, Stiltskin, Bodeans, The Tories, Arlo, The Rembrandts, Candlebox, Semisonic, Crash Test Dummies, Sugar Ray and so many others who provided me great moments though most ephemeral groups labeled them with no future that only served to put a soundtrack to teen movies-middle class American High. I personally saw in them a link or more of a balm sounds sad consumed with that age and I sat in fable light of a chorus the songs they used to choose easy filing as singles and still have a great for those bands, so yesterday when I heard 'Bubbles' (name of character in the series that I commented last few lines) had played guitar albums of this Canadian band Pictou County (Nova Scotia), recovered forgotten those feelings with a couple of listeners integrity of this fabulous 'Bionic' the second of three albums that the group left a legacy. An interesting walk in the hot sun, led by rock, pop and grunge in a brushwork that as the initial cuts include "Curious", preceded by an introduction of a few seconds it seems extracted from the head of a cartoon, and it was his iconic track, with guitars and melodies that are combined to perfection while the voice is reproduced in digital effects, the robust "Collide", where the bass sounds meaty and rhythmic moves to Seattle for a parent to the cream of what was cooking there two decades ago (and I might add that the guitar line reminds me the song 'Joy', the album opening 'Gas' of the enemy), the somewhat Pavement "For You", supported by these choirs the principle very heirs Malkmus and his men, the sober "Decisions", my favorite album, partly as a dark line compromised at times by a vocal play violin exciting background comes the Australians Silverchair in their development and Maynard James Keenan of Tool and A Perfect Circle in the way of singing (relatively speaking, because for me there is a voice so big as this one), the acoustic "Three balloons and a trapdoor" to evoke an atmosphere decelerating trend docile folk might remember the Blind Melon more attached to tradition, the magnificent "Live", perhaps the best of the lot by quality, inspired composition that lysergic guitars and choral sound of the quintet comes to the fore, and the moody "... and the mood changes", which gives end the journey with slow pulse and one of those hidden cuts that was so fashionable alternative discs included in the moment, that this time opts for the more bizarre psychedelia. SANbox were Paul Murray (nephew of the popular Canadian country singer Anne Murray), Scott MacFarlane, Jason Archibald, Troy Shanks and, of course, Mike Smith, the famous 'Bubbles' from 'Trailer Park Boys', whose levels of popularity because his paper, that recently have joined the tour of Guns 'n' Roses (this time not saying anything bad about them, if not lynch me) by Canada and the United States.
