TEN NEW MESSAGES (2007)

Since the beginning of the year have not stopped going to market good albums that I have been getting earlier than expected thanks to some of you. Albums by bands and artists I love like Explosions In The Sky, The Decemberists, TV On The Radio, Noah And The Wahle, Radiohead, Bill Callahan, REM, The Kills, Glasvegas, Mogwai, The Rural Alberta Advantage, The Dodos, Fleet Foxes, J Mascis, O'Death, Limousine, PJ Harvey, Friska Viljor, Bright Eyes Throwing Muses and surprises that have not known as Amos Lee, Ben Ottewell, Bobby Long, Ducktails, Alexander, Jason Isbell & 400 Unit or Antoine Reverb. Well, after I can hear different say I like them all (some more than others), with one exception that I mentioned, the new album by The Strokes that I found something bland without wanting to rush in my humble verdict, because I have not heard more than three times whole and do not know if I'll finish putting base of finding the charm. For now it is a resounding no, but anyway and although it is likely that many do not'll agree with me, I think New Yorkers have an excellent group that reactivated certain sounds at the time (this is the part that gives me the ear that you will disagree) and that over time has lost the north. Many groups have been building on its base have opted for a similar proposal including I want to stress to The Rakes, a band of London (England), which appeared shortly after the debut of famed American education and became a British version with three albums now could help improve what they have done those with their recent 'Angles '. Its existence was ephemeral, it was barely five years, but left an interesting legacy that although I will not put through the roof as I usually do with everything I put on here (I know I spend enough with the adjectives usually not I can avoid) if I'm going to recommend to anyone who wants to spend a pleasant time. Tucked into the sac of post-punk revival and art-rock of the British Isles that also included The Futureheads, Maxïmo Park and Bloc Party, the four big boys songs composed immediate, fresh and enjoyable, with lots of rhythm and dignified sobriety, highlighting the same way his texts on working life, mundane routines and escape from the monotony. 'Ten new messages', was his second shot and perhaps the most laudable, an album inspired by a combination of choral music, the TV series '24', the melodies of Bono (vocals for U2) , poets of the first World War and the Sugababes (¿¡!?), in the words of their own singer. Here we find such interesting pieces as "The World Was A Mess But His hair was perfect", I'm damned if that line these guitars are not part of the teachings of Albert Hammond Jr. (The Strokes illustrious member and son of the famous composer of the same name), like the chorus of "Little Superstitions", a wonderful song that I consider the best his discography as well squeezing his formula, "We danced together", more direct and lively with great rhythms and a melody quite addictive, "Trouble" which is about a little dark fiber Editors in the beginning for little after robust into a spiral of considerable change in direction, "Suspicious Eyes" with Asian rapper Raxstar doing spoken word intro and the warm voice of Laura Marling, former component of Noah And The Whale, a cut that would fit on any album by The Fratellis or B side of a single by Franz Ferdinand that base jumping, "When Tom Cruise Cries", a fun title in reference to a scene from the film 'Magnolia' director Paul Thomas Anderson, where the well-known actor reaches the dramatic climax to a piece of silent tour in their early stages but that introduces the first and encourages the excessive rolling of the feet to accompany their stanzas, and "Leave the city and come home," Arctic Mokeys wave, especially when they are relaxed, and dismisses this pleasant work performed by Alan Donohoe, James Hornsmith, and Matthew Swinnerton Lasse Petersen.
